What are the characteristics of the space truss structure?

The space truss generally refers to a grid structure composed of components connected on both sides. The space truss structure is also called steel space truss structure, space truss and space structure, which refers to a truss structure with round or rectangular space components. The biggest difference from the general space truss is the interface method of the node. The space truss structure uses components to directly weld the cross node (or space node).

In most cases, the components in the space truss structure only bear radial tensile or compressive forces, and the stress is uniformly distributed on the cross section, which is easy to play the role of materials. This feature makes the space truss structure require less material and its own weight is relatively small.
