The prospect of steel structure engineering is relatively good, if it is refined. My teacher once said, it’s easy to change steel structure design into concrete design, but there is some difficulties in changing concrete design into steel structure design. In addition, due to the steel structure can make a variety of different architectural modeling, and won the favor of architects. In recent years, steel structure gradually replaced the traditional brick concrete structure, steel structure has many advantages in practical use, such as low cost, strong anti-seismic ability, convenient installation, high degree of assembly and less pollution.
This is also in line with the concept of green building and prefabricated building that the country has been advocating. Then, I will share with you the features of steel structure and the prospect of steel structure design with my own experience. The history of steel structure in China can be traced back to the iron-bone bridge in the Western Han Dynasty.
Before the founding of the People’s Republic of China, construction and steel industry in China was backward. In 1909, Zhan Tianyou independently built the Zhangjiakou Railway Bridge in Beijing, opening a new era of railway Bridges in China. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the state attached great importance to the development of iron and steel industry and construction industry, and a large number of independently designed and constructed steel structure buildings appeared. After the reform and opening up, the construction industry has entered a new period of rapid development, the application of construction steel is expanding, especially the rise of long-span steel structure, light steel structure, high-rise steel structure, high-rise steel structure building, now the steel structure plays an irreplaceable role in the construction industry.
The advantages of steel structure are: compared with concrete structure, steel structure has a higher seismic capacity, the weight of steel structure itself is relatively light, so the foundation reaction force is greatly reduced.The installation speed of steel structure is fast, and its parts have realized mass production.The quality control measures and technical measures of welding, trepanning and other operations have been relatively mature, which can shorten the days for construction to some extent.The strength of steel structure is relatively high, steel is a high-strength material, which determines the construction cost of steel structure is relatively low, and can be reused, effectively avoid the waste of materials, belongs to the environmental protection material.The application status of steel structure in ordinary steel structure building, because steel structure not only has light pollution, but also has the advantages of high strength, light weight, good anti-seismic performance, convenient installation and so on.
Therefore, the traditional brickwork and concrete structure for a long time to occupying the main body of the construction industry is quietly changing with the application of steel. High-rise steel structure in modern high-rise and super high-rise buildings are widely used high-rise steel structure. High-rise steel structure is developing rapidly in China.
