Speaking of steel grid roof structure, we will often talk about a concept that is the rise-span ratio. Today, SAFS Steel Structure Engineering Company will take you to understand what is the rise-span ratio of a curved roof and how to calculate the rise-span ratio?
Ratio of rise to span = roof rise / calculated span.
Roof vector height: the distance S from the centroid of the roof mid-span section to the centroid of the connecting bolt group at the feet of the two arches.
Calculate the span: the distance L between the centroids of the bolt groups connecting the two arches of the roof.
The sag-span ratio of beamless arched roof is generally 0.2~0.4. When the wind load is the main load, the smaller value should be taken, and the larger value should be taken when the vertical load is the main load.
If the span and load conditions are known, we can calculate the arch height.
In engineering practice, we have an empirical value for reference:
Span (m) 5~28 29~32 Floor arch
Arch height (m) 1/5 span 1/4 span 1/3~1/2 span
The above is the introduction and example of the rise-span ratio. You can calculate the rise-span ratio by substituting your own roof structure data in the article. Of course, if you still have questions that you don’t understand, please contact me.
